Live Streamers Are the New Brand Influencers!

By Janette Speyer

Want to get your brand in front of a new audience? Podcasters, Webcasters and Live Streamers are your answer! They are the 2018 influencers.

There is so much noise all over the Internet and brands are struggling to stand out above the crowded space. Part of my job is to look for alternative sources to offer my clients.

I have been tracking a few web shows for quite some time now. These newcomers have grassroots shows with audiences that love to watch them and are growing in viewers. In these intimate settings, a brand has an opportunity to reach a specific target market. Now is the perfect time to approach industry broadcasters.

Upcoming broadcasters have passion and usually select topics that they believe in. Enthusiasm is always a winner in the sales department. Here are a few good reasons to consider podcasters:

          • The New Live Streamers are REAL! These are people from every walk of life talking about their experiences. This benefits your brand because you can cherry pick which ones have the audience you are looking for to deliver your brand messaging.
          • Sponsor a Show. Have the live influencer integrate your brand into the discussion. Your product can be the problem solver. For example, Live Streamer Tawanna Brown Smith showcases our client’s healthy vitamin supplements. Her broadcast offers solutions for busy moms that TRUST her. Once she engages her audience, she offers a giveaway giving the viewer a chance to win.

Result: The added value is a soft sell along with experiential marketing. Winners and listeners alike will try the product as they trust Ms. Brown’s opinions on products she endorses.

        • Get Interviewed. Be seen and tell your story. It will be shared across the anchor’s social platforms as well as yours. Promote your knowledge in a field that your consumers can relate to.
Here is an example our client Pacific Resources International’s participation: On Last Night’s Show, Melissa Reyes and her partner Cindy invite guests to partake on the show. We used a popular trade show as our stage for the webcast. Clips of the interview were shown during the actual show. Guests discussed the product benefits, making it seamless and not so promotional.

Result: A WIN-WIN. Viewers got live testimonials from people actually trying the product. How is that for social selling!

Live Streamers Are Opening New Horizons

Live Streaming isn’t only effective on social media. You can also get your brand in front of a fresh audience thus opening up a whole new range of possibilities.

The content is shared across all social media platforms as well as in emails, Flipboard magazines and so much more. Better still it keeps getting recycled every few months.

Give it a shot and let me know. If you have any new ideas on how to leverage your brand using influencers, feel free to drop me a comment.

Janette: I will do more live streaming in the near future, but I haven’t decided which platform I should focus on. Twitter, Periscope, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube (Google+), or Patreon? 😉

    Hi Martin
Sorry for the tardy response. I personally like Instagram and Facebook Live. That being said, I am not a real live streamer. It depends on the industry you want to reach.
