Using Social Media to Communicate During a Disaster

By Web Success Team

The East Coast felt the full force of nature, yesterday, when Hurricane Sandy hit during the early evening hours. As she progressed through terrorized neighborhoods ravaging everything in her wake, many people were left in the dark or in the water.

Social Media and Disaster

In spite of Sandy’s wrath all the social media channels were alive and well keeping loved ones informed of the comings and goings of the hurricane.

There was everything from humor, drama, anxiety and boredom. There were even some folks out there playing Words With Friends (Who won? Who cares?)

Pictures speak a thousand words so here is a pictorial of some of the finest, funny and sad moments of Sandy’s wrath.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all my friends on the East Coast. Many thanks to the wonderful heroic workers that braved the storm to help others in need.
